ABOUT THE CASE

The CASE focuses on real estate acquisition, development programming and financial underwriting at the asset level. The competition is intended to mimic the professional circumstances and assignments that students interested in real estate finance, acquisitions and development are likely to encounter after graduation. Competing teams, comprised of no more than four graduate students each, receive a competition packet that includes important information about a specific development site located somewhere in the world.

After receipt of their competition packet, teams have six days to submit a development proposal which includes a brief concept narrative (Letter Of Intent), a bid price and development program for the site, a description of the capital structure for the development venture, a fully-functional Excel-based financial model and a summary PowerPoint presentation. Judges review each team’s development proposal and select twelve semi-finalists to compete live in a semi-final round in front of a host of judges and industry professionals. Three teams will be selected from the semi-finalists to advance to the final round to be judged by industry veterans at a private dinner for competitors, judges and sponsors.

We would like to thank all of our past competitors, judges, sponsors and volunteers for helping make the CASE an international success.
